Hannah Montana Movie

Kylee is a HUGE Hannah Montana fan. So it was no surprise that when we saw the preview of the Hannah Montana movie on t.v. that she would want to go see it. We live in a smaller town (less than 25,000) so movies take a little longer to come around here. So I was surprised to see that it was already showing this last weekend!

I mentioned to Kylee on Saturday that it was on here in town and she freaked!! "WE HAVE TO GO!" she says to me. I said "calm down....let me find out what times it's on and we'll see if we can go on Sunday". So I get online and check out our movie theaters schedule. I expected they would have a Sunday matinee (around 2:00).....but no, the first show was at 5:00 and the second show was at 7:10. What dumb times for a kids movie! The first being over supper time.....duh! And the second being too late (in my opinion) for a school age child to be staying up on a school night! We wouldn't have gotten home till about 10:00 p.m.! So I figured we'd go to the 5:00 show and just have movie theater popcorn for supper....LOL.

Then Kylee asks "Can I have a friend go with us?" It was just going to be Kylee and I because our son Joshua can't sit still for more than 2 minutes. And my husband really didn't want to go, so he had no problem staying home with Joshua so we could go. So when Kylee asked if a friend could go, I had no problem with it. She went to Sunday J.A.M. (Jesus And Me....our churches new name for Sunday School) that morning and asked one of her friends if they could go to the movie with us. Her mom said yes, so it was all planned.

Then the weather went all haywire! We were in a severe thunderstorm watch till 4 p.m. and a tornado watch till 8 p.m. Between 11:30 and 4, we went through two severe thunderstorm warnings.....heavy rain, hail & lots of wind! Kylee was all worried that we wouldn't be able to go to the movie because of the weather.

Luckily, we were able to go and both of the girls LOVED the movie (and I enjoyed it too). The girls each got a kids pack that included popcorn, a kids size drink and a candy bar of their choice. I just got a popcorn and a pop.....I LOVE movie theater popcorn!! I know it's probably the worst kind of popcorn health-wise, but it just tastes soooo good!! :o)

All in all we had a great time and would highly recommend this movie to anyone that's thinking of going to see it.

I lead a boring life

I haven't blogged about anything for about a week now. And today I'm still not sure what to blog about....I live the most boring life! I do about the same things every day.

I get out of bed and get dressed and ready for the day, get the kids up and ready for school, take Kylee to school (and Josh to preschool on Mondays and Wednesdays), then I come home, eat my breakfast (cuz I'm too busy getting the kids ready, I don't have time to eat before I take them to school), usually get on the computer and check e-mail then get on here and check out all the blogs that I follow. After all that, I'll do some housework, load and/or unload the dishwasher and maybe do a load or two of laundry. Usually around 12:30 or so, Josh and I will eat lunch. We leave around 2:30 to go sit and wait for Kylee to get out of school at 3:20 (I leave early so I can get a good parking spot....otherwise you either have to park a mile away or you don't a get a parking spot at all!!) Then we head back home. I check Kylee's backpack for paper's, etc. then go through the mail, break up a fight or two between the kids then head upstairs to change clothes and get ready for work. Hubby gets home around 4:20, we exchange information that we each need to know (I tell him about the kids, he tells me what I need to know about work [he's my "boss" too]), then I'm off to work. I grab a bite to eat before I clock in, then it's 4 hours of decorating cakes. I come home around 9:15 p.m., sit for about 10 minutes then Kylee and I head up to bed (she won't go to bed without me). I usually end up falling asleep in her bed and staying there all night.....ocassionally I'll wake up and go to my bed, but then she wakes up and realizes I'm not there, so she'll come in our bedroom and wake me up and beg me to come back to her bed.....and I do....so we can get back to sleep! Then we wake up at 7:00 the next morning and do it all over again! UGH!

Of course, there are days that it varies a little bit.....but not very often. That's pretty much my life in a nutshell. Boring, huh?? I need a vacation! LOL

I got a Perm!

I got my hair permed on Wednesday!

I use to have my hair permed on a regular basis for years and years and always had long curly hair. Until one day I just decided (with a little persuasion from my hairdresser) that I was going to go straight. She showed me how to use a straightening iron. Of course, I can never duplicate what she does, so at first I was extremely disappointed in my decision to go straight.

After awhile, however, I got use to it and it actually looked good for quite awhile. I had straight hair for a year and a half.....since September of 2007! But toward the end here, I was getting so tired of flat, lifeless, straight hair.....I needed something easier to take care of........so, back to curls for me!

I would love to post a picture of what my hair looks like, but I refuse to take of picture of myself right now......ya see, I have impetigo.....and it decided to rear it's ugly head right smack dab on my face and it looks hideous! So as soon as that clears up, I will take a picture of my "new do"and post it.....it may be a few days though.....I've only been on antibiotics (oral and topical) for two days, and the sore hasn't gotten any smaller (it's about the size of a dime). So bear with me :o)

Weight Watchers

I've been contemplating starting Weight Watchers. I'm so tired (literally) of being overweight! I've done a little bit of research on it and found that there is a group here that has meetings twice a week. I will have to do some re-scheduling of my hours at work in order to attend one of the meetings, but I'm hoping to work it out.

I'll keep ya updated as to what I get figured out. :o)

Look what we made!

I emptied out an egg carton (the paper kind) yesterday and decided to save it because I've always wanted to do some kind of craft project with one. So I thought "I'll check online to see what kind of neat ideas I can find". Kylee noticed it sitting on the kitchen counter and right away wanted to use it for a project of her own. I told her I wanted to look online to see what we could do with it. She, of course, wanted me to look "right away" so we could do a project "NOW"!

So I went online and typed in "Projects with egg cartons". The internet is so amazing.....whenever you need something, it has an answer (most of the time, anyway) LOL

I found several projects, but I wanted something worthwhile.....that wouldn't end up in the garbage a few days later.....plus I wanted something Spring themed......and I hit the jackpot! I found the cutest craft project. And here's a picture of our labor of love........

The instructions said to use orange tri-beads for the carrots, but we didn't have anything like that, so we had to compromise.....at first I couldn't think of anything to use for carrots. Then I thought we could use orange craft foam.....looked in my stash of craft supplies....didn't have any orange foam! So I brainstormed a little more and remembered I had some polymer clay modeling compound (Sculpey). This stuff is awesome.....you can shape it into anything, bake it, then paint it, carve it, drill into it....whatever! So we made carrots with it, painted them orange, then glued pipe cleaner leaves on the top. Oh, the eyes are made of clay too. We could've used googly eyes, but I didn't have anything small enough. The ears are made of craft foam (I actually had some pink) and then I painted the white insides on them. The flower is made of craft foam too. :o)

We had a ton of fun with this! Now we're looking at doing milk carton flowers!!! I will post pics if we manage to get them done....LOL. :o)
